One For The Club Kids

If you go down to the club today,
You’re in for a big surprise.

Kids pulling shapes in their acid brights,
Popping pills, snorting coke, what a sight.
Pounding beats, electro notes on the keyboard,
Surrounded by people, no room to move.

If you go down to the club today,
You’re in for a huge surprise.

Blank, eyes shut, swaying to the bass,
Sweat in the air, in your hair, dripping down your face.
Flashing lights, glo-sticks held high,
DJ, headphones on, absorbing the love from the crowd.

When you go down to the club today,
Be ready for a big surprise.

In the corner, grinding and groping,
Hands up and down, dance-floor sloping.
Heels clatter up and down the stairs,
Stumbling and laughter heard in the dingy loos.

When you go down to the club today,
don’t be too surprised,
Things aren’t always as advertised.
